Formed in a basement in the East end of Toronto, SLIT SLOT began their tour of duty improvising funk and rock riffs over the sounds emanating from their newly purcased Dr. Groove drum machine. AquaVulva, Hutch and Parkers previous outfit, had just ground to a halt, following the death of their most recent drummer N.T. and they were searching for a new sound. Their friend Peter Van Ruff was currently working on his solo project Pete's Meat and was in need of some collaboration.THE REST IS HISTORY. Until being discovered by Dan Burke of the ElMocambo, SLIT SLOT paid their dues as an obnoxious novelty act playing to the less than impressed hip-hop patrons of the Richmond St. club The Beat Junkie. These shows were put together on a dare from the groups friends, and turned out to be an excellent proving ground for their twisted brand of musical-comedy.
